This is a 3-part course designed specifically for helpers, with the aim of introducing key aspects of vegetarian cooking and to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to plan and execute well-balanced and nutritious vegetarian meals. We will also cover basic food safety and hygiene. There will be a short theory lesson at the start before we dive into the practical aspect of cooking
It is recommended to enroll in all 3 parts for a holistic learning experience but is also possible to attend the classes individually.
Part 1:
Introduction & Overview of Vegetarian Cuisine
Creating Sensational and Nutritious Salads that look and taste amazing
We will start with a short quiz and discuss the different types of plant-based diets, breaking the myth and understanding why people choose vegetarian diets.
Recipes:
Pearl couscous, falafel and roast veggie salad with lemon-tahini dressing
Asian-style Kale and cabbage slaw with sesame-crusted tofu and ginger-miso vinaigrette
Masala-roasted carrot and chickpea salad with homemade dukkah and coriander-lime vinaigrette
