Chef Shalu is an accommodating host & excellent chef with a personal touch. My colleagues loved the food, presentation and epicurean tastes of the evening. We’d dined on appetizers watching the sunset sipping Champagne, followed by dinner & desserts at the dining room. Chef Shalu had advised me on the wine matching at dessert to serve the Muscato after, and it was indeed too sweet to go with, kudos on keeping the charming dinner palatable. This is the first time I’d had a personal chef cook for us at home and now an indelible memory of enjoying my first ever vegetarian meal in my life turn out more delicious than I’d hoped for, Thanks for a great party!

Her classes are all hands-on so that you can get out the most of it – very easy to follow and all steps are written down. I can strongly recommend her. I still love to cook her recipes!

We had a great time with Shalu today! The class was informal & relaxed and the environment was condusive. We felt right at home and the food was truly authentic and tasty. Shalu was also very informative and helpful, we look forward to coming back again.
Shalu is a very good teacher whose explanation is clear and comprehensive. I appreciate her patience in answering the many quetsions we had, some very inane! The lesson is very well-organised and timed, with everyone having time to be sufficiently involved. Something I take away which is probably quite unique to Shalu’s classes is the healthy, wholesome meals made out of just vegetables. For a meat-eater, this is something I didn’t imagine I would enjoy…but I did!

I have taken cooking classes wherever I can on our travels: Indonesia, Malaysia, Borneo, Thailand, Vietnam, and here in Singapore. BUT the recipes I get from Shalu are the ones I cook at home. They are simple, easy, packed with flavour, and low in fat. In the class I learn where to source the ingredients, the nutritional plusses of the ingredients, variations on the ingredients. The classes are small and the talk around the table during class is invaluable to a newbie.
